Hello, I'm Heather,
Makeup Artist and proud owner of Heather Alexandra Beauty & Bridal Makeup,
a gorgeous boutique salon, housed inside a Grade II Listed building in the old Market Place of Wincanton, right in the heart of Somerset.
In the salon we provide a full range of beauty treatments as well as makeup lessons, skin and makeup events.
Bridal Makeup is a very big passion of mine and I am always delighted to be a part of the special morning, Ioften travelling to the bordering counties of Dorset, Wiltshire & Devon to get my bridal party ready.
So, let me tell you a little bit about myself and just how the business started...
Having had a long standing love affair, for over 25 years, with the world of beauty, makeup and all things 'girlie' from a very young age (brought about by my wonderful, elegant, late mum, Alexandra) as I grew older the burning ambition to train as a Makeup Artist and Beauty Therapist followed me.
Family and friends over the years have asked me for manicures, to shape their eyebrows, to do their wedding and special occasion makeup, as well as provide pamper parties, so it is fair to say that this ambition has been well fuelled and one that has remained throughout my life. The passion to follow my dream never left me
and I am now living out my dream in a job I adore in the world of beauty and makeup which is ever changing and ever growing in possibilities and I am truly overwhelmed that I am the Owner of my very own Beauty Salon.
After a long decision, and the wonderful support of my darling husband and devoted family and friends, I finally made the break from my full time career to take an almost uncharacteristic plunge, returning to college and trained as a
Beauty Therapist, embracing every moment of the journey, making some wonderful new friends along the way.
I went on to do further training with one of the world leading cosmeceutical organisations in Mineral Makeup,
Jane Iredale, gaining my qualification as a Makeup Artist, but I didn't want to stop there so I went on to do even more training with The London School of Beauty and Makeup, gaining a qualification in Bridal makeup. This has since led to dozens of bridal makeup bookings each year, Wedding photoshoots, making-up catwalk models at Wedding Showcases, and excitingly, even more clients requesting lessons, providing them with the confidence to apply their own makeup.
I have featured in Bride & Tonic, Vow Magazine and Weddings In the Wild publications and also received a prestigious Award from LUX Life Magazine.
I strive to learn and train further in the world of beauty and makeup, sampling new products and
being able to offer a larger range of knowledge and treatments to my clients and brides in future years to come. So far,
I have really enjoyed every moment following the growing beauty industry and I absolutely love attending events and shows.
As I enter my 7th year, I cannot wait to hear more about your beauty requirements, whether bridal makeup or becoming
one of our wonderful regular clients for every day beauty needs, this career is a journey of discovery and one which I love.
Lots of love,
